JOBLESS RATE IN N.W. INDIANA RISES TO 9.7% IN NOV. '09 AS HOOSIERS GRAPPLE WITH ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS OF LONG DOWNTURN

    Regrettably, economic hardships for many Hoosiers continued during November 2009 as jobless rates rose or remained flat in all seven counties of the Northwest Indiana region. Thus, the regional jobless rate rose to 9.7 per- cent in November, a small yet significantly painful rise from 9.5 percent in October '09.  In light of a prolonged recovery period, WorkOne Northwest Indiana offers substantial amounts of help to Hoosiers facing unemployment.
